Design and Testing of a Demonstration Prototype for Lunar/Planetary Surface Landing Research Vehicle (LPSLRV)
This is a student use site for the Utah State University MAE5930 course for orginization and reporting on the design and development of an LPSLRV.
About our Project
The Lunar/Planetary Surface Landing Research Vehicle (LPSLRV) is currently in development.
The Lunar Lander will be a terrestrial based simulator that will do the following:
- Be a quasiautonomous piloted flying vehicle
- Offset earth's gravity to simulate lunar gravity (5/6 g).
- Carry a payload of instruments (mainly a camera) to enable simulation of a lunar landing.
The LLRV prototype will be built and flight tested and a paper will be written for NASA's systems engineering competition.
