This is our Helicopter test stand set up with the Walkera Chinook.

A walkera chinook has been purchased for initial testing. This helicopter has allowed us to get our test stand set up and understand concepts of how to characterize our helicopter system. We learned alot from our walkera, mostly what not to do. As a result of our experiments however we have developed good methods of how to evaluate our helicopter system. A trade study was done with the use of a blade element code we developed to pick two possible systems, a system similar to our walkera and a fixed blade system more similar to an airplane propeller. Because we were unable to obtain the needed parts we are now pursuing a fixed blade design.
